The Campo de la Horadada
For centuries this was the far southern edge of Orihuela, dry farmland crossed by the Vía Augusta and watched from a coastal tower built in 1591.
After a long campaign the Campo de la Horadada became its own municipality in 1986. It now runs from an inland market-garden town down to five kilometres of open Mediterranean coast.
